Tom Bott's High Society Orchestra is a live vintage string ensemble with piano and percussion, of up to thirteen players performing unique music for weddings, special events and formal concerts.
From a traditional Viennese waltz to Irving Berlins 'Top Hat' staring Fred Astaire, along with sumptuous film scores such as Rogers & Hammerstein's 'South Pacific', nothing quite compares to having the breathtaking sound of a live string orchestra meandering across a crowded room on your special day.
Ever wanted to dance to a live orchestra just like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers in the movies of old Hollywood? Well, now is your chance with The High Society Orchestra offering live music for your first dance in style!
All music performed by the orchestra are original arrangements from the 1930’s to 1950’s, which means that guests experience a unique atmosphere like no other. Tom, the director of the orchestra, inherited a large library of sheet music from his grandfather, 'Bernard Bott & His Orchestra'.
It is this unique collection of music that makes the High Society Orchestra so special and unique, creating the perfect atmosphere that will stay with you and your guests for a long time to come.
Tom works very closely with clients to ensure that the orchestra creates the right atmosphere for their special day. This includes meeting at a specified venue to provide the client with exactly what they need from size of ensemble, combinations of instrumentalists and even a bespoke service where any particular piece requested by the client can be arranged in advance.
The orchestra's string quartet and cocktail pianist are also available throughout the day to service particular requirements, such as a string quartet for a wedding ceremony or cocktail piano music over a meal. The full ensemble can perform for any part of the day including champagne receptions, late into the evening or up to a specified point giving clients as much variety as possible.
As well as directing the High Society Orchestra, Tom continues to perform as section principal violin for touring artists such as Katherine Jenkins, Alfie Boe, Russell Watson, Leseley Garrett and Andreas Bocelli. He has also appeared in feature films starring Kiera Knightly (The Duchess) and Robert Downey Jnr (Sherlock Holmes 2), as well as recording and appearing on live TV shows such as X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.
