About Us

Kate Edmondson’s bespoke bridal dresses redefine the traditional wedding dress, combining glamour and elegant simplicity to create the perfect wedding dress for today’s bride.

Kate Edmondson bridal gowns and headpieces are of the highest quality and each one is a handmade original.  Kate's hallmark is her excellent pattern cutting and stunning beadwork. Kate has designed and created couture bridal dresses for private clients for over 10 years.  Kate's design studio is located in Acton, West London.

The wedding dresses: In a departure from the more traditional look, Kate's designs are sensuous, fresh and elegant.  She skilfully uses her highly developed draping and cutting skills and her personal touch to produce beautiful bespoke dresses for each bride individually.  Kate uses lightweight couture fabrics which give her wedding gowns an elegant simplicity.  The clever use of delicate beading and luxurious lace brings an additional depth and sparkle to each dress.

Kate Edmondson designs offer today's bride a unique combination of sophistication elegance and sensuality. My dresses are designed to enhance the bride's individuality and offer something fresh and different.

The bridal hats and headpieces:  Kate produces wedding hats and headpieces individually to match bridal gowns.  Each bridal hat and wedding headpiece is handmade specifically to order in the West London studio.  Kate uses luxury silk fabrics to create the dramatic shapes which are enhanced by exquisite handmade flowers and feathers softening the silhouettes giving each piece richness in design.  Kate creates hats, headpieces, hair accessories and corsages for brides, bridesmaids and mother-of-the-bride

The Service:  The service is bespoke.  Each bride receives a full couture service with fittings including calico or muslin toile which is a mock up of the dress.  All fittings are with the designer herself to ensure each dress is cut in the most flattening way possible and fits perfectly.  A second toile may be required.  The paper pattern will then be altered to incorporate any adjustments made in the toile fitting before the silk is cut.  Depending on the style and fabrics chosen, a further three fittings maybe required to ensure highest possible standard of fit and perfection.  Kate can also use silk from your dress to create a beautiful headpiece that is sure to turn heads.
