This former Royal residence has to offer 21 refurbished bedrooms, the Marquis of Buckingham’s former ballroom which could cater for up to 116 guests and as with Leez Priory, you could also invite up to 250 guests for the evening reception and party. Located in the village of Castle Hedingham and owned by the Honorable Thomas Lindsay, the castle is closed to the public during wedding ceremonies. With seating for up to 100 guests in the Banqueting Hall and space for another 30 in the Minstrel’s Gallery above, your ceremony would take place by candle-light with the option of a medieval themed wedding complete with authentic costumes or if you prefer, the more modern traditional ceremony. The lined marquee on the Tulip Lawn would then be available to you for your Wedding Breakfast, and with exclusive use of the house and beautiful grounds, there would be plenty of opportunities for some amazing photographs for your wedding album.
Part of the Best Western group, The Rose and Crown Hotel situated in Colchester offers you a lovingly restored 14th-century oak timber-framed building as your wedding venue. Licensed for civil ceremonies, the 3-star hotel has 39 luxurious en-suite rooms, a 2AA Rosette restaurant and can accommodate up to 150 guests for your wedding breakfast and up to 200 for your evening reception.
