Adventure-loving Shelby and Jared chose a bright colour palette to add a fizz of summer colour to their rustic barn wedding. With robins-egg blue nails matching her blue shoes, Shelby chose a sweetheart neckline with chiffon shoulder straps and a lace overlay, floating down to a pretty train and with a sparkling feature waistband. A long veil covered the ribbons of her bodice and tucked neatly into her loose up-do – an ideal choice for a hot summer real wedding California.
The robins-egg blue carried through to her bridesmaids’ dresses – different necklines and a matching lace overlay to complement the detail on Shelby’s dress. The groomsmen’s ties and pocket squares were a perfect match and their light khaki suits were an ideal choice for the hot weather. It’s definitely important to think about the climate you’re getting married in – but also think about your guests, you might want to have a more relaxed dress code if it’s going to be a hot one!
Sunflowers brightened up the already sunny day, featuring in all the bouquets alongside sleek white roses and providing a pop of colour on the lace draped gazebo. Groomsmen wore a single sunflower in their buttonholes to tie the wedding party together. Sunflowers also decorated the tables and gorgeous four-tiered cake.
More robins-egg blue for the table décor, giving a lovely contrast to the natural setting and sitting beautifully alongside the bright yellow sunflowers. By keeping the colour theme simple and bold, there was no need to include too many fussy details. A few touches of lace and some big vintage lights and signs made sure Shelby and Jared’s personalities shone throughout the day.
