The Place To Be If You Need To Detox For Your Wedding

I can’t tell you how excited we were last week on receiving an invite to Nirvana Spa. Set in the beautiful Berkshire countryside it was very easy to find just 90 minutes from London and was clearly signposted. I had not visited a spa for a whole day before so I did not know what to expect other than facials and a Jacuzzi. We were welcomed by a very friendly receptionist who gave us a map and explained all the facilities Nirvana had to offer. Once we got our bath robe and towels we headed off to change in to our swim suits.

What we loved….

The tranquil Nirvana Room Tepidarium is an essential place to visit. Its subdued lighting and heated ceramic lounges make it the perfect environment in which to take a little nap, simply rest, or read. I had a little nap as I relaxed on a heated lounge chair listening to the water trickle from the beautiful  fountain.

Heavenly Skin Spa Experience

The  healthy food served in the Garden Café was really fantastic. The menu included light snacks, salad bar buffet and a la carte dining. For lunch I had couscous with grilled haloumi cheese accompanied by chicpeas in a mint dressing. It was so delicious I asked the chef  for the dressing recipe. We had a lovely coffee and walnut cake for afternoon tea  to give us a pick- me- up after all that relaxing.   Before our last treatment we sipped on a refreshing glass of Champagne.

Next was a trip to The Aroma Steam Room which opens up  your nasal passage and clears your airways.  This was followed by a Monsoon Shower.

Must do Treatments ….

The Celestial Flotation Treatment: Nirvana Spa is the only place in the UK where you can float on spring fed water containing over 100 tons of Dead Sea Salt, with 21 skin enhancing minerals.

Dead Sea Flotation Pool

We began with a 15 minute induction in the smaller ocean pool, where a therapist took us through the journey of flotation. The therapist explained the principals of this unique treatment and gave us our first opportunity to float. I was a bit apprehensive about stepping into the warm turquoise mineral water, but as soon as I got in, it felt wonderful.

Next we were led through to the stunning Celestial Pool.  It was beautiful! I loved the low lighting and the gentle current that moved us around the pool, whilst we floated under the star lit ceiling. The four of us had to remain silent so we could gain the full benefit,  fully relax and enjoy the treatment.

After 40 minutes which seemed just like 5,  I had an invigorating shower with complementary products, my favourite was the enriching Celestial clarity conditioning mineral hair and scalp mud, which was so good I had to purchase one of my own.

Celestial Clarity Aqua Balance Spa Facial: A cleansing treatment which begins with a zesty face wash followed by  a purifying exfoliation, left my skin feeling radiant and smooth. A rebalancing mask was then applied to nourish my stressed skin.   As my face mask settled,  I had a head massage.  A light textured moisturiser was applied to my face to balance the skin, using gem extract to enhance and repair.

I left Nirvana  feeling truly relaxed, revived and refreshed.  My skin was glowing and radiant, and I can’t  wait to go back for some more treatments.
