National Wedding Show 2016: What To Expect

The greatest wedding fair of all (in the UK) is opening its doors again in  February this year. If this is your first time attending such a lavish affair, we’ll give you a quick rundown of exactly what to expect from this monumental event. It’s held in three locations: Manchester, London, and Birmingham, and this year will be bigger and better than ever.

What was it like last year?

Catwalks were held throughout the day, showcasing various different collections by designers such as Nigel Rayment and Alfred Angelo, getting you in the mood for matrimony.

There was also a chance to explore the exhibitor’s stands to see if anything might inspire you. Every single exhibitor made great use of their space, and the atmosphere was electric, making the customer service that little bit more fantastic. Fabulous venues from all around the world had stands where you’re able to sign up to mailing lists and collect wedding brochures – so many venues in exotic locations!

Clearly a lot of effort went into the bringing together the perfect suppliers for the show, and there is most definitely an incredible abundance of products and services on offer to brides (and grooms) who are seriously shopping around for their big day.

Who will be there this year?

Most notably, this year there will be a collection from Rock’n’Roll Bride! Bored of ordinary weddings? Alternative wedding super-blogger Kat Williams, a.k.a. Rock’n’Roll Bride, will have a curated collection of hand-picked exhibitors to show you what’s what when it comes to stylish alternative weddings.

Showcasing their stunning collections this year will be designers including Alfred Angelo, Allure Bridals, Berketex Bride, Jenny Packham, and so many more!

There will be a flower market featuring displays from the UK’s leading florists – flowers to suit every taste and style – plus a selection of gorgeous bars and restaurants to relax and put your feet up in (not literally… well, mostly not) including a delightful Vintage Tea Room for a traditional English tea experience.

Not forgetting The Wedding Theatre! This is where you can learn all the top tips for your big day, featuring experts like Claire Ginzler, Cinta Miller, Ariana Poole, as well as make-up artists from L’Oreal to instruct on how to style yourself for your big day.

Why should you go?

It’s simple: a wedding show like this one is a great place to shop around, and so many exhibitors are offering exclusive offers just for the show. There are amazing salespeople, nobody pushing you to take a look, so absolutely no pressure – exactly the environment you need if you’re planning a wedding! There are even beauty treatments here, you can get yourself a relaxing massage, a beautiful manicure or a gorgeous new hairstyle.

  • TOP TIP: Head for the smaller stalls, not necessarily the bigger names. You’ll often find beautiful handmade items and receive a more personal service – and you’re more likely to be wearing a one-of-a-kind dress!
  • TOP TIP #2: Wear comfy shoes. You’ll thank us later.
