Pamper Prepare And Indulge On Your Hen Weekend

With so many wonderful luxury hen weekends on offer and so many tempting treats for a hen and her fellow hens, I wanted to put my own ideas together and give you a tried and tested one that you might like to try.

First stop would be the Sanctuary Spa that treats over 60,000 women every year at their iconic spa in the heart of London’s Covent Garden. A beautiful building filled with hidden treasures, the spa is a true Sanctuary away from the bustle of the City.

Sanctuary Spa is a fun place for enjoyment, whether you’re indulging in a glass of bubbly while lounging by the serene Koi Carp pools, applying a Moroccan mud mask or feeling aches and pains dissolve under the skilled fingers of their therapists.

I experienced the new ” Hen Time Together” package that offers everything needed for a bride to be and her hens. This hen package includes one 25 minute treatment, a glass of pink prosecco afternoon tea and full use of all the luxurious day spa facilities.

From the many treatments on offer I chose the Sanctuary Massage that included body oil contains rich oils that  nourished my stressed back, and left my body feeling deliciously relaxed.

We then headed to The Bloomsbury Hotel a traditional luxury combined with modern touches. Such a great location just off Tottenham Court Road, this lavishly refurbished hotel marries high end contemporary design with rational elegance in the building created by Sir Edwin Landseer Lutyens.

As we entered the hotel lobby, it had a welcoming elegant feel about it and was rather grand. With eye soothing tones and textures with bright splash of ruby red in the corridors.  We were warmly greeted by a friendly receptionist, and could not wait to see our room for the night.

We stayed in a deluxe room that included a cosy towel robe, mineral water and Espresso coffee maker.

Dinner for the evening was in the Landseer British kitchen that creates classic favourites and had a very modern design.  Michelin starred Chef John Wood has taken a simple nutritious approach to creating unique menu feasting season produce from local suppliers.  I can honestly say the food is exceptional and the service extremely hospitable and our lovely waitress Martha really could not do more for us.

Here is what I had: to start with Goat’s cheese, apple and walnut roulade, caramelised beetroot cider sabayon, with walnut and pecan bread.  My main was Beer battered seabass, chunky chips, lemon tartar, mushy peas with fresh ketchup. And to finish I chose Plum frangipane tart with Praline ice-cream yum!

After the most delicious relaxing evening we moved to the panelled Lanseer bar that serves classic cocktails with a signature twist and d many quality wines.  I just had to sample the  famous Martini they serve in the bar, an Espresso Martini!

To end such a wonderful evening why not try The Roof Gardens, Kensington.  Just make sure you get on the guest list or you will not get. We arrived at around 11:00pm and the club was in full party swing.
