Winter Sunshine at Arizona Ranch This week’s real wedding comes to us from Phoenix, Arizona, where Vanessa and Jairo tied the knot in the dramatic landscape of Whispering Tree Ranch. The venue is as magical as its name suggests, with rustic wooden cabins, carts loaded with flowers, and sweet signposting that wouldn’t look out of place in a Sunday afternoon Western.
The backdrop is one of majestic mountains and wild plains, and the outdoor ceremony was set under cool blue skies and the shadows of bare, winter trees. Vanessa opted for a close fitting lace gown with a dramatic fishtail from Azteca Bridal, and a fabulously glamorous, retro-inspired up-do by Yvette Garcia. Her bridesmaids were channelling wood nymphs in their stylishly 1970s-reminiscent, blush gold dresses and flower garland headpieces.
Jairo and his groomsmen tied in nicely with the day’s gold and blush tones, in dapper beige suits from Men’s Warehouse. The day was made more special by the inclusion of some lesser done traditions, such as a blindfolded preview for the groom, as he got a chance to hold and kiss his lovely bride before finally setting eyes on her as her father walked her down the aisle. Later on, under fairy lights and clear night skies, the outdoor reception got into full swing with the throwing of the garter, and – of course – the bouquet, before guests warmed up the winter night and saluted the newly married duo with crackling sparklers.
The whole wedding has a gorgeous vibe of wintery, outdoor beauty. From the autumnal blush and gold tones in the flowers, table settings and bridesmaid dresses, to the gorgeous auburn colour of Vanessa’s hair, the resulting photos are an earthy, romantic picture book of love in the wild west.
