2015 Weddings: Luxury, style, and more than a bit of daring! Here are our highlights…

What a year 2015 has been for the luxury wedding industry. We’ve seen so many of our brilliant suppliers take their luxury products to the next level, whether it’s dress design, event planning, or weaving floral masterpieces. We’re looking back on 2015 – a year in which we expanded our team and launched our slicker, faster, and more beautiful website and logo – and have chosen some of our highlights from the year… Today we are looking back on January to June.

January – Discovering China’s paradise island, Hainan

In actuality, our trip to Hainan was in December 2014, but we spent much of January combatting the post-Christmas blues by revisiting the delectable photos from our trip to Hainan’s main resort, Sanya. We were their courtesy of Hainan’s Tourism Board, and we were shown the most spectacular places to get married by our wonderful hosts. February – A magical Valentine’s night with Ian Stuart

The best part of February (in fact, possibly the only good part of February) is Valentine’s day, and there can be few better ways to spend the most romantic night of the year, than at Ian Stuart’s utterly fabulous Blewcoat headquarters. March – East meets West at the Jewel of Mayfair showcase

In March we started looking towards spring and summer at the most exotic and colourful wedding event of the year. Think Shaadi and Scarlet Events pulled off this glorious celebration of eclectic cultures, featuring product by Oscar de la Renta and Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium. Essential reading for any Asian brides looking to marry in style in London!

April – Britain’s Sports Personality of the year, Andy Murray, weds in Dunblane

Andy Murray is flying high this year; December saw him win both Sports Personality of the Year, and the Davis Cup (along with the GB team) and he married long time love, Kim Sears, with whom he is expecting a first baby in 2016. Andy and Kim’s Cathedral city wedding is our April highlight. Even the rain couldn’t wash away the huge smiles on display as gorgeous Kim, in sparkling white Jenny Packham, and sporting hero Andy tied the knot. Read more, read more.

May – Discovering the possibilities in Ibiza, a true luxury wedding destination

One of the most amazing trips of the year for us, was the visit to Ibiza courtesy of Ma Cherie Wedding Planners. Ibiza really surprised us, and we fell in love with the scenery, the beach, the lifestyle, and the people. June – Planning a wedding at captivating Cliveden

June saw 5 Star Wedding Directory being granted the pleasure and privilege of snooping around the historical and supremely luxurious countryside hotel, Cliveden House. The mansion – a party house for over three hundred years – has a spicy and fascinating history as well as a 5 star rating as a hotel, and plays host to some of the most glamorous and beautiful weddings in England.
