The Banqueting Hall that looks out over Parklands Deer Park, has the capacity to hold up to 130 guests. The Billiard Room is rather smaller, with room for up to 78 guests and, for those more intimate weddings, there is the sumptuously-decorated Drawing Room for around 30 guests. East Mersea Hall, Colchester

Mersea Island offers a beautiful 16th century country manor house as an exquisite venue for your wedding. East Mersea Hall is an Elizabethan Country Mansion, with its Grade II listing, is even surrounded by a moat! In fact, St Edmunds Parish Church is just a stones’ throw away, abutting the boundaries of the Hall.

For the bride and groom who decide to hold their Civil Wedding at East Mersea Hall, there is the Terrace Room available for wedding parties up to 45 guests, although the area adjacent to the Terrace Room can easily accommodate the overflow. While the bride and groom have their photographs taken why not arrange for guests to enjoy champagne and canapés served on the terrace after the ceremony? The Pavilion is a glass-fronted venue that takes in breathtaking views of the nearby lake. This room can easily accommodate up to 120 guests for a sit down meal, or as many as 150 for a wedding buffet.
