Weddings At Duisdale House Hotel
06/18/2009 - By Mary McPherson

Duisdale House Hotel is sometimes likened to a sleek city boutique hotel transported to the wilds of Skye and it has certainly has been attracting lots of attention from romantic couples, from cities near and far, as a venue for their weddings.

Since re-opening Duisdale House Hotel last year they have played host to over fifteen weddings – mostly medium sized (up to 50 people) but some small and intimate and each one has had its own unique touch and style. The hotel has a civil wedding license and also runs a private luxury yacht on which you can also get married – obviously this would mean a smaller wedding party for the ceremony but family and friends could be waiting on shore to congratulate and continue the celebrations!

Set in acres of gardens and the ancient Duisdale Forest, the hotel is wildly romantic and full of original features; like the historic wooden staircase, decorative ceiling cornices and the warming open fires but they all blend beautifully with the stunning new dramatic, stylish décor which is mostly in a palette of black, mushroom and cream with a touch of red and aubergine thrown in for good measure.

Every bride and groom have ideas on how to make their day special and unique to them and the team at Duisdale are ready to help with ideas, contacts and arrangements from florists to harpists and everything in between.

Chef extraordinaire, Graeme Campbell and his kitchen brigade are masters at creating mouthwatering menus using only the best fresh produce from The Isle of Skye and owners Anne Gracie and Ken Gunn are on hand at all times to ensure everything goes exactly to plan.

Whatever the decisions on the special touches to create the perfect day, from the moment the wedding party arrives until the last guest leaves, you can rest assured that a wedding at Duisdale House Hotel will be perfect in every way. A day to be remembered and cherished by all, a day to relax and enjoy where everything goes smoothly to plan - without a hitch (well except the obvious!).
