Wedding Wishes
02/20/2009 - By Amanda Reed When you get married, there are going to be many who want to offer you wedding wishes for a happy and long marriage.
Though there are common ways to do this, there are more unusual ways that you can allow them to do so. It will be up to you and your wedding party to decide what you want to do. Most use the common guestbook, but that does not leave a lot of room for extra things. Usually this just contains the names and addresses of those who attended. Some guests want to say more.
They always get to leave you wedding wishes in the cards they give with their gifts. However, there are other ways they can leave these that are more accessible to you. You can't really go home and hang a hundred different cards on your wall, and even if you did, you wouldnít leave them up for very long. There are some who like to buy large poster sized boards to have framed. They place a photo of the couple in the center, and they then leave a pen so that guests can leave their wedding wishes on the board. This is always a huge hit, and the couple can hang the finished and framed board in their home for years to come.
Others like to take the same idea as this, but they put it into a quilt. This one is a lot more work, but it will look great when it is finished. They leave quilt squares out of the guests. Though these are harder to write on, and you have to have the right type of pen or marker to use, many will do the best they can with it anyway. When the big day is over, the wedding wishes on the quilt squares can then be made into a quilt to give to the newly weds. This quilt can be done in the wedding colors, which is a nice extra touch.
Any way wedding wishes are saved is always good. Though some are more fancy than others, there is something special about saving these words to look back on in the future. Even the simplest things will bring back the best memories, and they will be memories that the married couple will be glad to have. I know there is someone very special who has died since I was married just five years ago, and I am grateful that I have her written words saved and tucked away, and that her wishes for my married life and my future can always be there ready to be read and relived over and over again.
