The World Famous Ritz London

One of my favourite hotels in the UK has to be The Ritz London, so when 5 Star Weddings were invited to spend the weekend at this amazing hotel I jumped at the opportunity.

Ritz London

My excitement was building up upon driving up to the hotels grand elegant entrance.

Stepping out of the car which the immaculately dressed doorman organised the valet, our luggage was whisked into the hotel. As I walked through the entrance I simply could not wait to see what this hotel had to offer and could see myself indulging in pure luxury within this French Chateau style architecture and Louis XVI furnishings.

“Welcome to the Ritz Madam”, words that I would certainly like to hear more often, as it leaves one feeling that you have arrived.

After a rather seamless check in, we were swept away with a staff member who guided us to our suite. The interior detail of the hotel is as impressive as its exterior and represents the influence of various Parisian architectural traditions

Luxury Rooms:

Four principal colour schemes are used for the bedrooms, salmon pink, rose-pink, yellow and blue. The curtains in each room are handsomely swags and draped with both Jacquard and damask silks. Our suite was blue and ever so exquisite, on the corner of Piccadilly with views of the hustle and bustle of the west end below us.

Bedrooms At The Ritz

The suite was extremely large and comfortable with immaculate detailing, high ceilings, classical proportions and had a spacious twin bathroom, we immediately felt comfortable and very much at home, luxury and grandeur does not get better than this.

If you are to stay in any of the five special named suites The Berkeley, The Trafalgar, The Arlington and the residential apartment style Royal and Prince of Wales Suites you are able to enjoy the services of a full-time Ritz Butler.

The Ritz Restaurant is considered by many to be the most beautiful hotel restaurant in the world, and I could not agree more. The vast floor to ceiling windows, the rich and varied use of soft pink, pale green and veined white marble, and the dazzling garlands of chandeliers reflected in the wall of paneled mirror, combine to create one of the most spectacular interiors in London, as charming by day as by night.

The restaurant really gives ‘palace – style’ food and service, its selection of menus featuring great classical dishes alongside British specialties, and its strong focus on seasonality. We had the pleasure of sampling ‘Menu Surprise’ featuring a six-course selection of Executive Chef John Williams’ signature dishes (£95 or £160 with accompanying wines)

The Palm Court:

To the left of the Long Gallery, between the hotel lobby and The Ritz Restaurant, lies The Palm Court. Originally known as the Winter Garden, it was designed as a dramatic back-drop to delight those entering from the Piccadilly entrance.
