Last weekend saw more than 6,000 brides-to-be and their bridal parties attend the third edition of Brides The Show at the Business Design Centre, Islington, making the exhibition our biggest and most successful event ever.
With the very best in bridal, from cake couturiers and florists, to dress designers and luxury travel gurus, plus hundreds of luxury exhibitors – including Laurent-Perrier, The Turquoise Holiday Company, Browns Bride, Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, Halfpenny London, Ian Stuart, David Fielden, twobirds Bridesmaid and Rosewood London – stylish brides-to-be ticked off their ‘to-do’ list during three days of inspiration.
Visitors flocked to the DIY masterclasses to experience a one-on-one with the UK’s leading experts. Highlights including hands-on cookie decorating with Peggy Porschen in The Imagination Room and Bruce Russell answering questions about the latest trends On The Sofa, as well as champagne tasting on The Sommelier’s Table.
Also on show was an amazing array of features and giveaways. The UK’s leading cake couturiers created their ultimate wedding cake, including a jaw-dropping 6ft sponge and a glow-in-the-dark cake – plus 12 lucky brides won the cake of their dreams, worth £1,000. While over at the We Heart Heels stand, brides got to pick their favourite designer shoes from the likes of Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin, before bidding for them in a charity auction in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
As always, our stunning catwalk shows, curated by Brides Fashion Director Bryony Toogood, featured the latest bridal collections, from some of the best international and British designers including David Fielden, Stephanie Allin, Naomi Neoh, Ian Stuart, and more.
Leading florist Zita Elze who won Brides’ Editor’s Gold Design Award said: ‘I was delighted to be involved in the design of the Brides The Show catwalk this year, creating a meadow alongside the runway and some bouquets for several of the talented dress designers. I’m also thrilled to have won the Brides magazine Editor’s Gold Design Award! Most of all I love the show because of all the smiling faces, meeting brides-to-be and connecting with so many interesting and creative people in the wedding industry.’
Wedding Planner The Bijou Bride said: ‘The planner’s lounge was just the perfect space, a moment of calm to discuss all the many inspirational ideas on show and how we can weave them into their wedding plans. It was a wonderful way to meet potential new clients. I’ve already booked a fabulous wedding.’
Event Director Anjali Potter said: ‘After what we accomplished with the first two editions of Brides The Show, we were delighted to be able to follow up with our third – and busiest-ever – event in Islington, that both visitors and exhibitors absolutely loved.
The move to the Business Design Centre allowed us to attract wider audience bases, and deliver our best-looking show to date. The quality of sponsors and exhibitors that showcased is testament to the affluent audience the event attracts, and continues to set us apart from competitive events in the bridal market. We are now hugely excited for our 2015 events.”
