White Gallery London is the no.1 destination to discover the very best of British bridal talent. As they prepare for the sixth edition of the premium bridal trade show, the nation’s finest designers have revealed their key trends to look out for at White Gallery London 2015.
Acclaimed designer Ian Stuart returns to White Gallery London with yet another showstopping collection of bridal gowns. The honour of having his ‘Flowerbomb’ dress included in the V&A Wedding Dress Exhibition inspired Ian to create a collection that would be fit for a museum. The gowns showcased were almost all exclusively created for royalty, socialites, fashionistas and celebrities, who had access to the finest couturiers and top designers.
Having started his career at one of London’s most renowned couture houses, Bellville Sassoon, Ian has revisited vintage sketches from his time there, studied the finer details of true couture, and combined it with his innovative style. Ian hopes to make the essence of real couture available to the modern bride.
Also returning to White Gallery this year is Alan Hannah, with his 2015
collection Floral Symphony. Combining art deco glamour with inspiration taken from flowers and colour, each style features exquisite embellishment, from the Summer dress featuring beautiful hand painted pink roses, to Venus, featuring delicate lace which has been specially dyed taupe to match the organza skirt, giving a twist of colour to this light and airy dress.
Lyn Ashworth’s 2016 collection features the signature shapes, style and quality that Lyn Ashworth is famed for, with every piece handmade in her studio in Staffordshire. In 2015 Lyn Ashworth continues to move forward into a mix of fresh ideas and magnificent fabrics.
Making a debut at White Gallery London 2015 is Louise Bentley, the new and exciting collection of British designed wedding dresses from talented duo Christine Wilke and Jane Hancock, the award winning design partnership behind the well-established and successful Loulou label. Beautiful, well-cut elegant wedding dresses, using pure silks and
corded laces are the essence of this gorgeous new collection launched for 2015.
Incorporating the dramatic backless trend is Eliza Jane Howell’s 2016 English Roses Collection. Styles include the super glamourous Lady Daisy gown, introduced to rival the designer’s best-selling beaded wedding dress Daisy.
Other new styles include Tuscany, Chianti and Angelica, and it is all about the back on these dresses too. Expect to see even more complex beading techniques from Eliza Jane Howell this season, that will shimmer and shine like a work of art.
The 2016 collection from Naomi Neoh is inspired by the ethereal and poetic elegance of the wild and beautiful English woodlands which are captured in the idealisation of a Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The new designs continue to include Naomi’s ever popular signature soft, floating, silk chiffon skirts and use of delicate tones of blush pinks and peach, but with a new addition of an ‘oyster’ hue. The 2016 collection also sees the introduction of a new guipure lace used for illusion necklines and delicate straps, which fits perfectly with the free spirit and mystical feeling of this collection.
Ivory & Co will return to White Gallery London with a new collection for 2015/16. Designed in a gorgeous array of flowing silk fabrics, the dresses will be feminine and intricate with amazing corsetry to produce flattering silhouettes. Skirts will be flowing with long trains inspired by the dramatic sweep of high fashion in the 1920’s, 30’s and 1940’s and bodices are embellished with dazzling Swarovskis and lace appliques;
think a cross between a Midsummer Night’s Dream and embellishments of ancient Greece and mythology.
New for 2016, Charlotte Balbier will be captivating her brides’ imagination with Bohemian free spirited designs that will take Balbier brides on a magical journey. Sitting alongside these dream like gowns will be silken fluid bias cut designs, daring low back details and as always, Charlotte’s attention to detail with straps, sleeves, beading and buttons all in an exquisite array of fabrics and colour palette. The 2016 collection marks Charlotte’s 12th year in British Bridal fashion. The Balbier brand continues to evolve whilst always maintaining Charlotte’s signature style.
Additional British labels taking part in White Gallery London 2015 include Stephanie Allin, Sassi Holford, Blue Bridalwear, Qiana, Zaeem Jamal, Katya Katya Shehurina, Mooshki, Emma Hunt, Terry Fox, Catherine Deane, Andrea Hawkes, Savin London and Sabina Motasem.
