The magnificent Maritim Hotel Mauritius is pleased to announce the opening of its new Asian fusion restaurant, Le Banyan. Introduced due to popular demand from guests and to complement the existing culinary offer at the five star property, Le Banyan will tempt hotel residents with a range of fine Chinese cuisine and Asian delicacies.
Featuring on the menu are a number of ‘signature’ dishes that are exclusive to Maritim, such as the Maritim Signature ‘Green Dragon’ Sushi (tempura roll with cucumber and topped with avocado) and the Connoisseur Spicy Honey Beef, along with more traditional and frequently requested Chinese and Asian favourites such as Crispy Hong Kong Duck.
Located in a tranquil Asian Zen setting overlooking a centenary banyan tree, the restaurant boasts a prime location from which guests can enjoy the magnificent views out across the garden and onto Turtle Bay.
A focus on delicious and indulgent ingredients including French caviar and lobster really make the difference to the signature dishes and all food is freshly prepared to order in front of diners under the supervision of Chinese head chef Han Zhen.
The culinary offer at Maritim Hotel Mauritius now comprises five restaurants and three bars. The hotel is famous for its fine dining restaurant Château Mon Désir which is set in the historical Balaclava ruins and renowned as one of the best à la carte gastronomic experiences in the north of Mauritius. Guests can also choose from the Belle Vue, which boasts an extensive buffet with live culinary stations, or La Marée which is Maritim’s ‘feet in the sand’ beach restaurant offering grilled meals, seafood and an evening ‘fish market’.
Director of international sales at Maritim Hotels, Mark Spivey, comments: “We’re delighted to launch Le Banyan and aim to offer a range of different dining experiences that provide our guests with a wealth of choice while staying with us. Our guests can’t fail to be impressed with the level of detail and passion that goes into the food preparation at Le Banyan.”
