A bleak British January is hardly an incentive to give the ‘detox and get fit’ New Years Resolutions a fighting chance… So, why not give them an inspirational lift at Amansala’s ‘Bikini Bootcamp’ – the original bikini bootcamp programme that’s already put Jade Jagger, Cindy Crawford, Sienna Miller, Charleze Theron and Linda Evangelista put through their paces.
The 6 night program is designed to help guests reconnect to nature and themselves through a program of yoga, fitness training, healthy eating, pampering, exploring of the local sites and beautiful beaches.
The ‘Bikini Bootcamp’ program was launched in Tulum, Mexico in 2002 by Melissa Perlman, an ex New Yorker, who became disillusioned with the stressful life after 9/11 and set out to create a holiday with a purpose. Where people could go to rejuvenate themselves and return home lighter in mind, body and spirit. Bikini Bootcamp quickly became the darling of the New York fashion crowd.
Amansala in Tulum, Mexico is a bohemian chic resort in a village like setting consisting of 16 cabanas. Guests fly into the bustling airport of Cancún and make the 2 hour journey to the laid back pueblo of Tulum – famous for its´ Mayan ruins. Designed and built in Perlman´s signature eco-chic style, using traditional thatched roofs, incorporating drift wood, river rocks, mosaics and playful colours; the rooms are simple, yet have style and comfort with private bathrooms, hot water, comfy beds and special touches like candles, incense, and luxurious linens.
The communal areas are perfect for relaxing during down-time while either lounging on a hanging bed at the beach, napping under a palm tree in a hammock or taking in the beautiful setting from one of the terraces. At night, candles light the way to the rooms and guests gather in the communal dining room to share in laughs and conversation and deliciously nutritious food.
