Fashion Editor and E! Channel stylist Melanie Pace on why Orlando, Florida has become the must-visit fashion city of the year.
Each year, thousands of women head to well-known shopping destinations New York or Milan for shopping trips with their girlfriends; however, Orlando has quickly risen to the top of the list for fabulous winter sun shopping getaways. If you’re dreading the thought of braving freezing temperatures, then this year’s must-visit autumn/winter shopping break destination is for you.
While most people associate Orlando with theme parks and rollercoasters, shopping is fast becoming the most popular activity for international travelers. The crown jewel of the USA’s sunshine state has been named the Fourth Most Popular Shopping Destination, only just behind New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
So why is Orlando a cut above the rest?
Well, within a 15-minute drive there are more than 450 stores ranging from high-fashion designers such as Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton and Jimmy Choo to brand-name outlets. Fans of American brands won’t be disappointed with Forever Twenty One, Abercrombie & Fitch and Tommy Hilfiger as well as all the big American department stores such as Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue and Macy’s all within a close shopping precinct.
The added bonus of the Orlando shopping holiday is the year-round sun, with temperatures never dropping below around 20 degrees – even in winter – so you can shop in your shorts and flip flops and even return from your autumn/winter shopping trip with a tan.
Watch this video where Fashion Editor and E! Channel stylist Melanie Pace, a native of Orlando, will give you the shopping rundown on her hometown. Plus, she’ll also pass on style advice for the perfect shopping break wardrobe, what to pack, what to leave behind and the autumn/winter “must have” trends.
