Last week saw 5 Star Weddings in Chelsea for the launch of Alice Temperley’s new bridal collection for autumn/winter session held at her bridal store Temperley London. Found within the quiet Mews we entered the beautiful flagship store to be greeted with a lovely glass of champagne and the first look at the outstanding gowns.
This season marks the tenth anniversary of Temperley and as a way to mark the decade of success the new collection showcases an eclectic mix of the Alice’s favourite and most iconic pieces from the past decade, which sees the return and revisiting some of her outstanding classic dresses from the past as well as some new imaginative creations.
During our time at the boutique we had the perfect opportunity to speak to a lovely bridal ware specialist that provided us with some marvellous insight into the gowns and the trending and popular pieces that have been most requested so far. One piece which is said to be undoubtedly popular and the one to watch for its design is the Long Chloe Dress. Its simple shape and understated details prove to be enchanting to the female form and the luxurious material and signature Temperley design give it is superb finish that provides a really unique and beautiful dress.
Although created before the royal wedding The “Long Grace dress,” portrayed hints of the dress worn by Kate Middleton, but was originally designed with the inspiration of the iconic Grace Kelly, featuring long tattoo lace sleeves, subtle sweetheart neckline and form fitting bodice. The gown has a transforming affect when worn to classic glamour and beauty a perfect choice for the vintage brides.
The other regal gown that caught our attention was the “Long Goddess Dress” made from ivory silk and eye-catching gold ornate bead-work, a very Egyptian inspired and delicate look for a wedding day.
What we did find out and love about Temperley is how they help the environment, through sourcing the best and luxurious fabrics and materials from local suppliers as well as keeping the manufacture of the dresses in the UK so you will always know your getting the best quality, best satins without a large expense to the Carbon Footprint.
With the launch of the new collection also marks the invitation for brides to come to the store for an opportunity to see the stunning dresses. We also had the chance to meet the fabulous accessory and shoe designer Emmy,as she talked us through the launch of her new collection and what the brand Emmy is all about. Emmy described her shoes as classic shapes and cuts that do not forget the femininity and comfort we require in wedding or event shoes.
Her Leila Signature shoe, part of the ready-to-wear collection continues to be the most popular and favourite by the majority of her clients. Whilst the new collections trending bridal shoe is the Francesca, which is a sparkly beautiful piece that can be worn in a variety of settings due to its versatility in design. Emmy Shoes are simply striking and the bespoke design means you get a shoe that is adjusted to coordinate with the dress, a comfortable heel height and the perfect colour which is versatile to be worn to High society dinners and events as well as on your wedding day. Lovely. Emmy can be found online, within the Temperley store or at her own Boutique in London. www.temperleylondon.co.uk, www.net-a-porter.com www.emmy.co.uk, www.lovexposedphotography.com
